James is One Month Old Today!

First of all, I can't believe I haven't posted anything in a week and a half! The days have been flying...I don't know what happened to September. It vanished before my eyes. I can't think of any time in my life when the days have disappeared so quickly. In that vein, today James is one month old! And I can't believe how much he has developed in his first month. Tomorrow we'll visit Dr. DeFreitas (our third pediatrician - finally, a great fit!) to see what the little man is weighing in at. We think he's around 9 pounds now.

Since I last wrote...
 -James enjoyed his first trip to the grocery store (Trader Joe's) last weekend, and he did a great job in the Baby Bjorn with Dad. Hopefully we can bring him in from now on (instead of one of us with him in the back seat in the parking lot hoping he doesn't freak out, while the other one races like a crazy maniac inside throwing stuff in the cart).  :)

-his eyelashes are getting longer and have grown by about an eighth of an inch

-he no longer looks like a molting little lizard, although he still has a wide lizard belly, most noticeably after he eats

-he enjoys the stroller and lets me walk about an hour a day in the mornings

-he has started participating in conversation - mostly though coo's and aahhh's

Yesterday, my dear friend Britta from Tucson came to visit and meet James. She is amazingly talented (brittavanvranken.com) and took these great shots. I am so happy to have these photos! I only wish Dan had been here so he could be in them, too.
